Olympic medalist – Steve Backley OBE is TP's brand ambassador as well as a big fan of TP Toys. Steve has been supporting TP’s ongoing mission 'Freedom to Play' - in a bid to get children out and about, and involved in creative, active play.
Steve explained his motivation for supporting TP’s mission:
"There are so many essential skills that children need in order to learn and develop such as; social interaction, creativity, coordination and risk assessment. All of these skills can be enhanced from outdoor play yet these days it has become all too easy for kids to stay indoors. The wealth of indoor entertainment coupled with the pressure on parents to keep their kids safe, has led to the creation of a generation of kids who don't even know how to play with each other outside. We shouldn't have to wait for nice weather to get outside - I play in the garden with my kids as much as possible come rain or shine! It's all about getting out in the fresh air and having some fun instead of sitting at home going square eyed in front of a screen!"
